Why not just a Chrome extension?
Extensions can hide elements on a page, but they can't stop Chrome from running background updater daemons, sending browser-level telemetry, or silently downloading 4GB local AI models onto your drive.
How do plugins & tools work?
Instead of an open marketplace flooded with millions of unvetted extensions, Leef uses a curated plugin store. Core protections are baked in, while optional utilities like Volume Booster and Sports Scores are built or approved by our team.
Why does Windows or macOS warn on install?
Leef runs natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Because we are a CC0 open-source project and don't pay corporate certificate authorities, SmartScreen or Gatekeeper may show an "Unknown Publisher" prompt on first launch.

Hard to come by nowadays.
Leef operates on a simple promise: your data is not ours to take. We run no tracking, no syncing, and no telemetry of our own. Just a browser that respects your space.
And it's staying that way. We don't track our users, so we have no idea how many of you are here. We're just happy you found us.
